Welcome to the Austin Civil War Roundtable

The Austin Civil War Roundtable is dedicated to preserving and deepening the understanding of one of the most pivotal chapters in American history. We provide a welcoming forum where historians, researchers, students, and enthusiasts come together to explore the Civil War in all its complexity—its causes, its course, its consequences, and its lasting impact on Texas and the nation.

Through engaging monthly programs, scholarly presentations, and open discussions, we bring history to life and ensure that the voices and lessons of the past are not forgotten. Our work highlights not only the military and political struggles of the era but also the stories of individuals—soldiers and civilians alike—who lived through these defining years.

A Holiday Afternoon of History, Heritage & Fellowship

December 7, 2025 • Texas State Cemetery • 1:00–4:00 PM

Join us as the Austin Civil War Roundtable closes out the year with a truly special December program—part historical exploration, part Christmas celebration, and entirely in the spirit of camaraderie that defines our Roundtable.

We invite you to gather with us at the Texas State Cemetery, one of the most sacred historic landscapes in the Lone Star State. At 1:00 PM, we begin with a guided tour among the monuments, resting places, and stories of Texans whose lives shaped our state and nation. This is a rare opportunity to experience Texas history in the place where it endures—quietly, beautifully, and powerfully.

Following the tour, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, we’ll move to the George Christian Room for our Christmas Party & Social—a warm and lively afternoon of fellowship, refreshments, and shared passion for history. This December gathering will serve as our official monthly meeting, and we’ll return to our regular home at Chez Zee in January.

Guests, members, friends, and all who enjoy history are welcome.

Bring a favorite party dish to share, enjoy good company, and help us celebrate both the season and the stories we preserve together.
