2025 Laney Prize Winner
During our June meeting, Dr. Timothy B. Smith of the University of Tennessee at Martin received the 2025 Laney Prize for his book The Inland Campaign for Vicksburg: Five Battles in 17 Days, May 1 - 17, 1863. It is the fifth and final volume in Dr. Smith's operational history of the 9-month campaign culminating in the capture of Vicksburg by Gen. U. S. Grant's Army of the Tennessee.
